Almost ready...

So I have to give David kudos for his imagination. I'm not sure if he is tired of all of the getting ready work or is dreading the upcoming ocean passage, but he is trying hard to get out of it. First when he came home from his bike ride across the country in late August, he had a triple hernia and needed surgery. He swears it had nothing to do with riding a 95 lb loaded bike 4100 miles across the country in the hottest summer in recent history. Sure.... Then earlier this week, he stuck a knife a 1/2 inch into his hand and needed stitches. I told him he needs to give up-he is still going!

We expect to finally leave the dock this week headed to the Bahamas. As we are learning, it is all about the weather so that will dictate when we actually leave. We have subscribed to a weather forecasting and routing service over the single side band (SSB) radio and have been listening to the forecasts over the last week or so. There were some days with 18-20 foot seas predicted this past week....we want to avoid those.

Only 3 stitches, but lucky he didn't hit an artery or knick a tendon.

7 months of clothes packed into this weekend duffel bag!

hmmmm...not sure what this is portending but this was my fortune cookie fortune tonight.
