When we got into Canaveral we met several other cruisers and as usual and got some recommendations on things to do in the area. The Kennedy Space Center was highly recommended. When MB looked it up on the internet, she realized that we were only 45 minutes from Orlando. Erin and her fiancé Jesse and Jesse’s parents Neal and Susan were in Orlando, less than an hour from us! They had come down for Jesse’s graduation. We quickly made plans for them to make a day trip here and and join us for a day at the Kennedy Space Center.
It was a delightful day, and Mary Beth and I were thrilled to get to spend this fun day with all of them. A description of the Space Center is beyond the scope of this posting, but it is a great place to visit. You will have fun, learn a lot, and be immensely impressed with the courage, innovation and steadfastness of the people who made it all possible. You could easily spend a day and a half or two days and not see everything.
Lots of these critters in FL and around the Kennedy Space Center:
We all came back to the boat and had dinner to together. There was storytelling and much laughter and we are very happy to have been able to get to know Neal and Susan a little before the wedding as well as spend more time with Jesse. We look forward to getting our families together again. And it was wonderful to see Erin and get some great hugs!
