We’ve been taking more pictures the last few days, so this post will share some of those and hopefully give you a little more insight what the Bahamas are like and what one does living on a boat.
Enjoy!
A friend showing off what he found on the bottom underneath his boat (it is alive and he did put it back).
During low tide, the water becomes shallow enough to walk across to the ocean or Exuma Sound side north of Hawksbill Cay. There are so many shades of beautiful blue and turquoise in this water and soft white sand.
There are so many gorgeous white sand beaches everywhere with not a soul around!
Every couple weeks we need to find a place to do laundry. The best laundromat in all of the Bahamas is in a small settlement called Black Point. This is the view of all of the cruisers in the harbor from the picnic table out front.
One of our very favorite things to do in the Bahamas is snorkel. The shapes and colors of the coral and fish are just amazing. I have taken so many videos, but can't post them here. There are Hawksbill Turtles everywhere that we just love watching swim.
But there are also lots of sharks, mostly nurse sharks which aren't supposed to be aggressive. This guy was lurking around our boat one afternoon. He was about 7 feet long. We decided not to swim when he was around!
